ABOUT
*Monica Day is not in the band, but she did take this picture.
"These guys know their niche and stick to it. If your crowd was born between 1970 and 1990, you should book this band."
- John Tirckle , Music Today Post
"Not my cup of tea, but I see how someone could like it."
- People Who Don't Like 90s Rap
The Winnie Cooper Project has slowly made a "career" of having fun playing experimental versions of 90s rap songs that everyone knows. The band was founded by attorneys Alex Hastie and Matt Crumpton, then rounded out with a team of ringers starting with guitarist Rob Hedge and drummer Tim Baumann, and eventually adding lead vocalist Stephanie Ries. The band is now rounded out by multi-instrumentalists Parker Norvell and Jake Reis (and sometimes saxophonist Terrance Farmer).
In the 10 years since the band formed in 2010, tWCP has played in some of the biggest venues in the midwest, including the main stages at Nautica outdoor pavilion in Cleveland, Express Live! in Columbus, Columbus Commons, Columbus Food Truck Festival, and many more. The band even opened up for Smashmouth and Boyz 2 Men.
These days, tWCP plays occasional bar gigs, with a focus on festivals, weddings, and special events. Hit us up if you are interested in having some Winnie Cooper Project in your lives.
